Test for Suitability & Allowable Load

Anchor Testing can be arranged in accordance with the recommendations of BS8539 for the selection and installation of anchors in concrete and masonry.

The test involves attaching a Test Rig to the anchor which is then pulled to the designated stress load level in order to test the strength of the fixing. We then provide a comprehensive and detailed report to show the conformance of the fixings to the project required load levels.

Steps for Requesting an Anchor Test:

1) Complete our ‘Anchor Test Request Form' with your requirements.

2) We will verify the details and prepare a quote for review.

3) Once approved we will confirm and book your anchor test.

4) Follow our checklist to ensure you have everything in place prior to your anchor test. We will contact you on the day of the test to ensure everything is ready.

5) Our CFA Approved Anchor Tester will attend site at the scheduled time and date to conduct the test.

6) Your anchor test report and certificate and invoice will be emailed to you within 24 hours.

Why Do You Need an Anchor Test?

Unless a contractor can prove their installers have had adequate training, and suitable supervision to ensure the correct tools have been used (such as an accurately calibrated torque wrench and the right setting tool), an anchor test is required to demonstrate proof of installation*, even if the anchors are ETA approved.

A CFA Approved Anchor Test carried out in accordance to BS 8539 will give peace of mind with a detailed report provided within 24hrs, which clearly shows the allowable load and photos that display if the tested anchors passed or failed.
